Red light at 660nm works in the skin and coat. Near-infrared at 850nm travels deeper, which is why clinics use it for joints and backs. The Hearth Pad runs both in every session, in the same one-to-two ratio as clinic devices.

The studies in dogs are mixed: some trials report a faster return to walking after spinal surgery, others found no difference.
